Glazing Plastic Sheet Types:
The following selection of plastics can be used in Glazing applications:
Acrylic Sheet for Glazing:
Our Clear and Opal Acrylic sheets can be used as a glazing plastic (Subject to thickness & load bearing conditions) for a number of applications such as:
- Picture Frames
- Green House Glazing (Subject to thickness & load bearing conditions)
- Sheds
- Outbuildings
- Cold Frames
- Horticultural Glazing (Subject to thickness & load bearing conditions)
- Most Applications That Require a Material With a Glass Like Appearance
Clear Acrylic is similar to other clear plastics with good clear optical clarity and is generally regarded as having half the density of glass but has a good impact strength higher than that of standard type glass (subject to thickness & load bearing conditions). However it has a softer surface and is more easily scratched than glass.
Opal Acrylic has an Opal \ Opaque finish to the material giving a more diffused effect to the material.
Should you require another clear material that is harder than Acrylic or Standard Plastic, then Polycarbonate is classed as a stronger material with more impact resistance.

Our Clear Polycarbonate sheets can be used as a glazing plastic (Subject to thickness & load bearing conditions) for a number of applications such as:

Polycarbonate is a versatile, tough plastic used for a variety of applications, from replacement for windows (subject to thickness & load bearing conditions) to compact disks (CDs). The main advantage of polycarbonate over other types of plastic is unbeatable strength combined with light weight.
Polycarbonate is a clear, tough, near shatterproof polymer that is known for it’s impact resistance. A rigid plastic that is easy to handle and can be cut to size. It is less susceptible to breakage than glass (subject to thickness & load bearing conditions), acrylic products.
